We’ve been in business for nearly 30 years. We don’t talk about ourselves much but we are so proud of our amazing team, and they deserve the credit.

The People Who Show Up for Each Other

The quality of a workplace rarely comes down to perks or policies. It comes down to whether the people around you make the job easier or harder, whether someone picks up the phone when you’re stuck, and whether the person next to you is pulling in the same direction.

In a business that spans sales, marketing, finance, business support, and partnerships, that kind of consistency is hard to maintain. It requires people who default to helping rather than competing, and a culture that rewards that instinct rather than inadvertently punishing it.

Nicola Wozniak, UX Designer, joined expecting to work in relative isolation. That’s not what she found:

“What I love most about working at BusinessMobiles.com is the people – genuinely some of the nicest, most supportive teammates I’ve worked with, always lifting each other up rather than competing. It’s such a collaborative space to design in, and there’s this shared goal to keep progressing and building something better. Add in the flexibility of working from home, and it just makes for a great team to be part of.”

Collaboration across departments doesn’t happen by default in most businesses. The fact that a UX Designer feels it as much as anyone in a client-facing role says something about where the culture actually sits.

A Culture That Has Lasted 27 Years

Most companies go through a cultural reset every few years. Leadership changes, headcount grows, the original feel dilutes. Sustaining a close-knit environment across nearly three decades, without losing what made it feel that way in the first place, is genuinely uncommon.

That durability starts at the top. Managing Director Charmaine de Souza built BusinessMobiles.com around a single design principle: easy. Easy switching, easy upgrades, easy support, easy conversations with real people who actually care. That philosophy wasn’t written for a website. It was built into how the business operates internally, and it shapes how the team treats each other as much as how they treat clients.

New starters tend to notice it quickly, because they have something to compare it to. Aleksandra Szczygiel joined three years ago as Business Support Administrator and says the consistency is what stands out most:

“Everyone’s supportive, no question goes unanswered, and that hasn’t changed in the three years I’ve been here. It’s rare to find that in a company with almost 30 years behind it, but BM’s kept that close-knit, family feel the whole way through.”

A Team That Genuinely Looks After Its Own

The word “family” gets used loosely in company culture conversations. What it usually means in practice is whether people feel looked after when it counts, not just celebrated when results are good.

A business that genuinely supports its staff tends to produce people who carry that instinct into how they deal with clients. It’s not a stretch to connect internal culture with the quality of customer service. Ana Dent, Accounts Assistant, describes it directly:

“What I love most about BusinessMobiles is that it’s more than just a workplace. It’s a family. We work hard, support one another, and always find a reason to smile along the way. I’m proud and privileged to be part of such a fantastic team.”

That feeling isn’t limited to one team or seniority level. Lucy Wilson, Head of Partnerships and Growth, has worked across a number of businesses and is specific about what makes BM different:

“I believe great cultures create great businesses. BM is a team that celebrates success, recognises hard work, genuinely supports one another and is passionate about delivering exceptional service to every customer. I love working here and feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a special team.”

The link between internal culture and external service quality is one that businesses often treat as separate. At BusinessMobiles.com, the two point in the same direction.

A Workplace Where Every Person Is Heard

One of the harder things to protect as a business grows is the sense that individual voices matter. In larger organisations, the gap between what staff experience and what leadership believes is happening tends to widen quietly. People stop raising things because they don’t expect it to change anything.

A culture where everyone’s voice is heard and respected isn’t just a better working environment. It’s also a more commercially effective one. Problems surface earlier. Ideas from the floor reach the people who can act on them. People stay.

Ricky Broomfield, Sales Consultant, is direct about what that looks like at BusinessMobiles.com:

“I love the diversity in the people that work here, both in origin and personality. Everyone is allowed to be their unique self. Everyone’s voice is heard and respected.”

That environment is harder to build than it sounds. It requires hiring for character as much as capability, and then consistently backing it up in how decisions get made day to day.

Why Good People Stay

Staff turnover in telecoms is high. The model in many businesses is to accept it, keep recruiting, and manage the churn. BusinessMobiles.com has an average staff tenure of 11 years, which is almost unheard of in the industry.

The businesses that buck that pattern tend to do so because people genuinely don’t want to leave. Retention in a sales team is one of the clearest signals of workplace quality, because the people most likely to leave if something isn’t working are also the ones with the most options. When they stay, it means something.

Akta Kanaiya, Sales Consultant, joined expecting a role. She found something she didn’t expect:

“Working for BusinessMobiles has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From day one, the company has felt more like a family than a workplace. The supportive and caring culture means that everyone is always willing to help, encourage, and celebrate each other’s successes. Without a doubt, this is the best company I have worked for to date.”
