We know that changing your mobile number can be a lot of hard work and hassle – messaging every contact so that they have your new number.
However, with a PAC code – it takes all that time and effort away.
Below we have answered some FAQs that may help you understand what a PAC code is and what you can do with it.
What Does PAC Stand For?
PAC Code stands for ‘Porting Authorisation Code’.
It is a unique identifier, usually 9 characters long – that start with 3 letters followed by 6 numbers.
This code given by the network, allows you to move from one mobile provider to another – whilst keeping your current phone number.
How Do I Go About Getting My PAC Code?
It is very simple to get your PAC Code, you simply call your current provider and ask!
It normally takes up to 2 working days for you to receive your code.
But once you have your PAC Code – you simply call your new provider and give them the code, this allows them to make the transfer for you onto your new device.
Anything Else I Should Know?
Once you have asked for your PAC code from the network you are leaving – you have 30 days to activate it on your new network.
PLEASE NOTE – Asking for your PAC Code means cancellation from your previous network!
Failing to give your PAC Code to your new network within the 30 day period – may leave you without a mobile until it is sorted.
