The first thing you notice about the Samsung i200 is that it’s taller than most other smart-phones. At a mere 12mm thick it is indeed a “waif-like” smart phone. Samsung reckon it's the slimmest you'll find this side of Japan - yet despite this fact it still manages to fit in a sizable 2.3in QVGA screen and even a 2 Megapixel digital camera.

And perhaps it’s exactly for this “waif like” reason - that the phone does feel so very comfortable to hold (....much like Kate Moss). The added height allows the clear and vibrant 58mm (2.3-inch) screen to really shine.

On the sides you’ll discover a customisable camera shortcut button, as well as a microSD slot, the volume controls and the propriety headphone/USB port.

One of the main selling points of this phone to the Business user is inclusion of Windows Mobile 6.1. Windows Mobile is a fantastic business tool – with updated mail & Instant messaging functionality.

You now have threaded SMS support, which means you can now follow your texts in a conversation format. Which we really loved.

You also get the latest Office mobile. This includes OneNote & gives business people the ability to edit & amend existing Office documents.

Throw in the addition of being able to copy and paste between emails, texts & input fields and areas of Internet Explorer – and this has suddenly become “one handy device”.

But it doesn’t just stop there – oh no. Additional software also comes in the form of an excellent video player, support for Microsoft Exchange, podcasting software (yes really) a PDF viewer and even an RSS reader.

In our tests we found that the Samsung i200 was really pretty awesome & also very easy to use. A quick press of the start button gives you a list to pick from of your recently accessed programs. Navigating around the screens was logical and easy to use. Web browsing was fast (we like) thanks to the inclusion of HSDP and the call quality during our test conversation was crisp & near on perfect.

The 2-megapixel camera is good and Battery life has been enhanced on the i200 by an “auto light sensor” option. In our tests we got nearly 6 hours of video playback! This feature alone is quite impressive indeed.

The Samsung i200 is great for surfing the net as HSDPA is included. But we missed the inclusion of Wi-Fi or GPS especially as the Samsung i200 is aimed at business users.

Summary: We enjoyed using the Samsung i200. Its HSDPA access and Windows Mobile 6.1 software should be very useful to today’s busy mobile Business person. Its slim profile and nice text & email experience offer you just about everything your Business needs.
