Nokia 6700 Classic |
The Nokia 6700 Classic is another fantastic piece of nostalgic brilliance, it helps us remember a time when life was simple and easy, and phones came with a shine to them. You may as well claim this phone to be a loyal friend as you’re not likely to get any un welcomed surprises from this affordable and attractive handset.

Oooh, shiny
The 6700 is shiny, very shiny, My wife uses my chrome modelled 6700 as a mirror to do her make-up in the mornings. The heavy weight of this model coupled with its gently curved design makes this phone a real treat to hold and when it’s in your pocket it is easy to feel that it is safe and secure.
The keys are not raised like other models in the classics range but this can be helpful at stopping those accidental calls to anyone in your contact list. The buttons are easy to press and give an audible click, which is satisfying and assuring when one is texting looking only at the buttons.
The 6700 runs on the operating system we have grown to know and love from Nokia accept there are a few differences. The home page is now customisable so you can add shortcuts or alerts to your home page, adjusting your phone to the specifications you need.
Clear as Day
The 56mm screen is dainty but contained, the screen is incredibly bright and vivid. Images in particular look picture perfect stunning and all icons standout and readable.
We were clearly impressed by the surprisingly high resolution camera, at 5 mega-pixels the handset is able to snap up beautifully crafted shots in daylight. Sure this isn’t no DSLR camera but with its low price and perfect design this camera works better than your average mobile phone and only has issues if you move around too much while taking pictures.
So with a steady hand and decent light you will be able to achieve exactly what you want to using this handset. If you don’t have decent light, that isn’t the end of the world, with it’s LED flash light it is easy to brighten up any nearby objects.
Audio Interference
The 6700 boasts noise-cancellation technology. This means if you’re in a loud office with loud air conditioning, shouting and keyboards tapping away the phone is able to cancel out this noise and make the microphone louder.
This means any conversation you have will not be interfered with by your surrounding environment, it is just you and whomever is on the other side of the line.
Summary
Can you not keep up to date with the smart phone frenzy? Are touch screens to fiddly and annoying for you? This phone might just be the answer, with its attractively shiny chrome design this phone is both elegant and reliable.
The 6700 handles the basics brilliantly, with fantastic call quality, thanks to the noise cancellation technology, and an easy-to-use, back to basic, vivid user interface. A few quality mods and cons, like the amazing 5-megapixel camera, customisable home page and access to the Ovi Store, make this phone feel more than worth it.
