HTC TyTN II |
The new HTC TyTN II is an amazing PDA with so many different business applications, it simply defies belief!
|

This is a fantastic machine with Video Camera, built in GPS, sliding QWERTY keypad and a swivel/twist screen that really makes the TyTN II look and feel like the mini PC that it is!
For business users looking specifically for a Windows Mobile device, there is plenty of choice, and now with the inclusion of this little beauty - it just got harder still!
While most PDS either have the best connectivity options available, or have the most popular input options, including touch screens...The new HTC TyTN II (aka the Titan 2) is an impressive outing from HTC that includes everything – all in one tight unit with built in
GPS included.
Features:
- Windows Mobile 6
- Tilted QVGA touch screen
- Sliding QWERTY keyboard
- Built-in GPS
- 3 mega-pixel auto focus camera
- Video camera
- WiFi
At a mere 112 x 59mm and 19mm deep, the TyTN II looks and feels like a really slim line pocket PC. It is definitely a stylish device, the underside of the handset and the QWERTY keyboard are made from a finger-friendly matte-black soft-touch plastic and it’s green display look great.
HTC’s inclusion of a full QWERTY keyboard under the slide has been a bold but brilliant move.
Unlike a lot of QWERTY keypads we see on other mobile devices, the TyTN II features one that is very easy to use… The screen slides back and twists for a very PC feel. Though while this is a nifty touch, testing has found that the top line of keys harder to access and so we preferred using the keyboard without tilting the screen.

The key pad is a good size (bar the top line) and it also comes with a stylus for more specific keying. The soft-touch keys are slightly raised off the surface of the pad providing you with an important definition between the keys and it also makes "two-thumb" typing a breeze.
The Built in GPS is probably the biggest reason for people to upgrade to the TyTN II. It comes with an onboard GPS chipset and is bundled with CoPilot 7 navigation software.
?
The TyTN II runs Windows Mobile 6 and has HSDPA and Wi-Fi for data transfers. It also supports all mobile network frequencies, all popular e-mail protocols, as well as AD2P stereo Bluetooth.
It also has a built-in 3-megapixel camera. In addition, similar to other HTC products, the TyTN II features the standard HTC Windows Mobile interface shell and HTC's patented TouchFlo technology.
Web browsing on the TyTN II is a joy with the HSDPA data speeds.
A jog-wheel on the side of the TyTN II makes short work of scrolling over long text-based sites , and hyperlinks are easily selected using the touchscreen. Our only criticism of the browsing experience is the mobile Internet Explorer browser itself, although we look forward to this being remedied by the next generation of freeware mobile browsers from Skyfire and Firefox.
In summary:
A great PDA, complete with everything you need. And with the inclusion of GPS should turn a few heads in its direction, the TyTN II is a winner!
